IELTS Listening is one of the four IELTS modules, carrying a total of 40 marks. You must complete 40 questions by listening to four recordings to complete this test. The IELTS Listening portion consists of six different task types. One may find that the IELTS Listening ‘Multiple Choice Questions’ is unique in itself and to be dealt carefully.

You must select one of the three options in the IELTS Listening Multiple Choice question type. You must fully comprehend the given text and quickly absorb key ideas and concepts as a whole. Thankfully, there are a few effective and useful suggestions that you could adhere to.

Use the IELTS Listening multiple choice question type suggestions listed below to help you prepare for the test. This will enable you to respond effectively to multiple-choice listening questions in the test.

  • Underline the question's keywords. Connect those keywords to what you gathered from listening to the tape. It can assist you in making the right decision.
  • Go over the available possibilities, make a note of the ones that are similar to one another, and be aware of the differences between them.
  • Do not choose an option based only on the words in the audio. You should consider your options and select a response because they might deceive you.
  • Avoid focusing all of your attention on a single question. Once you have answered the current question, go on to the next one. This will enable you to save a significant amount of time.
  • Get the listening practice questions. You should also work on your answer technique by practicing the multiple-choice questions.
  • When you hear terms like "but" or "however," be cautious! It indicates that the speaker is going to modify what they just said!

 

  • Carefully read the directions. Recall that you will select a letter (A, B, or C) rather than a word. Therefore, exercise caution while transferring the answers to the answer sheet.
  • Recognize the kind of question you are being asked to respond to. Once you have understood the type of question, answering it will become simple and easy.
  • Make a note of the answer you believe is correct but continue listening to the audio until you are convinced.
  • Make a list of synonyms and paraphrases for the key terms you heard in the recording. This will assist you in choosing the right answer.
