This program welcomes entrepreneur immigrants to come to Canada and start their own companies. The applicants must secure or obtain funding from IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) designated Canadian investment organizations to be eligible to apply under this program. This program offers permanent residency status for applicants who wishes to settle anywhere in Canada except the province of Quebec, wherein the applicant has a minimum net worth of C$300,000. Under this program, the applicant must establish (or acquire) at least 33.33% of the total equity. The business thus established (or acquired) by the applicant must create at least 1 new job for a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. Applicants who have a genuine entrepreneurial interest in the province of Quebec can apply under this program. Unlike the federal program, the Quebec Entrepreneur Program targets immigrant entrepreneurship in select sectors. They are agriculture, commercial, industrial, and other related sectors. In addition to the applicant’s (along with family, if applicable) intention to settle in the province of Quebec, he or she needs to satisfy certain additional criteria also.
