The IELTS is a test that evaluates a person’s English language proficiency and can be used as proof of language proficiency while migrating to Canada. This test's objective is to evaluate non-native English speakers' proficiency in English language. It is important to note that feeling self-conscious while picking up a new language is quite normal. Mistakes are made by everyone.

Bear in mind the fact that everyone passes through this phase and that your English language skills will get better with practice.

Why feel nervous when speaking English?

We, particularly those from non-English native countries, do not use English often in day-to-day life, at least on a personal level. Naturally, having to stand up and talk in front of others when unfamiliar with the language could make the non-native speaker a little anxious. For non-native speakers, communicating in English in public can be intimidating, especially in high-stakes scenarios like the IELTS speaking exam.

Some simple ways to be done with nervousness while speaking…

Perfect practice makes perfect

Recall the proverb that states, "Practice makes perfect." Speak English often to start with. Talk to friends, sign up for English language groups, or look for language exchange partners. You will gain confidence as you use more.

Accept errors

It is true what they say, "To err is human." When learning a new language, errors are inevitable for everyone and should not be taken personally. You need to make mistakes to learn and get better, therefore avoid being scared to make them.

Adopt sensible goals

Avoid taking on more than you can handle. Divide up your study into reasonable portions as you get ready for the IELTS speaking test. Concentrate on one thing at a time, such as pronunciation, vocabulary, or fluency. You will avoid feeling overburdened in this way.

The key to success is preparation

As the phrase goes, "failing to plan is planning to fail." Become familiar with the speaking exam's format. To evaluate your performance, record yourself while you practice responding to frequently asked questions. Your confidence will increase as a result.

Ask feedback

Never be afraid to seek teachers, friends, or language partners for their opinions. You may develop your confidence and find areas for growth with the use of constructive criticism.

Celebrate your achievements

Recognize your accomplishments, no matter how minor. Every accomplishment is a step forward and acknowledging them will make you feel better.

Master from the experts

Be in the company of fluent English speakers. Your confidence and linguistic abilities can be improved by fully integrating yourself into the language and culture.

In conclusion or in summary, …

With persistent work and an optimistic outlook, it is possible to overcome speaking anxiety in English during the IELTS speaking exam. Accept your errors, practice frequently, and keep in mind that confidence develops over time. You will succeed in English because, as they say, "Where there's a will, there's a way," and you have to be determined to succeed.
