The permanent resident status allows an individual to enjoy all the rights of a Canadian citizen, except the right to vote in election. The various programs that are available for a non-Canadian citizen to obtain this status can be broadly classified into two – skilled migration programs & business/investment migration programs. Permanent residents can become citizens of Canada once they stay in Canada for 1095 days (3 years) within the last 5 years from the date of application for citizenship.
Few benefits of Canadian PR are as follows:

The right to work and reside in Canada
The right to do business freely in Canada
Children’s school education becomes free & college education, subsidized
The cost of medical care is free (including medicines) other than dental
Free to travel anywhere in Canada
Right to property ownership
Express Entry is an electronic selection system used by the Federal and Provincial governments of Canada to select and designated Canadian companies to nominate individuals for Canadian permanent residency under three of the country’s most popular economic skilled immigration programmes:
Candidates in the Express Entry Pool who are eligible for any of the programs listed above are assigned a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score. This score is based on various parameters such as age, job experience, education, and language competence in English and/or French, among others. And, depending on their results, candidates are invited (or nominated) for permanent residency on a regular basis.
Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) were created to meet the participating province’s or territory’s workers shortage. Every province and territory in Canada (apart from Quebec, which has its own immigration policies as well as Nunavut) has its own Provincial or Territorial Nominee Programs. The participating provinces and territories enter into agreements with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) that provide them the right to choose applicants who satisfy their criteria from the Express Entry pool. An applicant must submit a second application to the IRCC after receiving the “Provincial Nomination Certificate.” Provincial Nominee Programs fall into two categories:
These provincial nominee schemes are not compatible with Express Entry. In other words, based on the program’s deadlines and requirements set by the province government alone, applicant selection and subsequent application processing take place at the provincial level. They are known as “base nominations” as well.
There is at least one immigration programme or stream connected with Express Entry in each participating province or territory. Provincial nominee schemes that are in line with Express Entry are known as Enhanced Nominee Programs. Through these initiatives, the provincial and territory governments have access to the Express Entry pool. A person obtains the provincial or territorial nomination certificate after being nominated by a province or territory (based on the person’s qualifications, circumstances, or interests). The nominee may apply for permanent residence in Canada based on the nomination after receiving a provincial or territorial nomination certificate. Those that are chosen will earn 600 points for their Express Entry profile, which will result in an invitation to apply (ITA). To discover more about how PNPs and Express Entry are related
The applicant must provide the original passport and the Passport Request Letter to the VAC after receiving the Passport Request Letter from the IRCC. The applicant has 30 days after receiving the Passport Request Letter to submit your passport. Administrative time for passport pick-up and delivery to the High Commission should be considered within 30 days. If the passport validity is less than five years when it is submitted, the visa will be stamped until the passport expiration date.

The leading provider of technological services and outsourcing for visas to governments and diplomatic missions throughout the world is VFS Global. For its client governments, the business handles the non-judgmental administrative duties relating to visa, passport, and consular services.
The applicant will have two options for getting their passport back – picking them up in person at the Canada Visa Application Centre OR having a courier bring it to them. When the applicant or authorized person receives their passport back, the passport photocopy and receipt are marked for collection, and the authorization letter, if any, is left with VFS.
Visa applicants may now reserve the Biometric Enrolment and Passport Submission at any of their Visa Application Centres (VAC) worldwide, according to update sent to Canada Visa clients by VFS Global, a corporation that processes visas and passports on behalf of governments. The change comes at a time when many visa applicants are having issues, such problems getting biometric appointments or trouble making appointments at the closest centre for visa applications (VAC).
With the new update, visa applicants who can’t get an appointment at their local visa application centre can choose any VAC and finish the biometric enrolment and passport submission procedure there. As a result, candidates will have more freedom in arranging their biometric sessions and will be able to turn in their passports and biometric data at any VAC facility.
The candidate must first schedule a biometric appointment before applying for a Canada visa. Some visa applicants are required to attend this meeting, which takes biometric information such as fingerprints and a photograph.

Determine whether you are required to provide the biometrics. Biometrics are not needed for all visa applicants. Check the Canadian government’s website to check if you must give biometrics as part of your visa application.
Gather the appropriate documentation. You will need to acquire all of the appropriate paperwork, such as your passport and any other forms, before you can arrange your biometric session. Before you begin the scheduling procedure, make sure you have all of the essential documentation.
To arrange your biometric session with VFS Global, go to their website and follow the instructions. You will be asked for personal information such as your name and date of birth, as well as information regarding your visa application.
Choose a meeting place. You will be able to select a location for your biometric appointment once you have entered your personal information. There are various sites accessible across Canada, so you should be able to locate one that is convenient for you.
Make an appointment. You will be able to schedule your biometric appointment after you have decided on a location. You will need to select a date and time that works for you, and you will be able to confirm your appointment after it has been set.
It is critical to remember that you must bring all required paperwork, as well as money for the biometric charge, to your biometric appointment (if applicable).
