A Women’s Economic Recovery Challenge Grant has been awarded to 20 non-profit community groups in Alberta. The grant will improve economic prospects for women and girls through STEM training and mentorship, digital literacy, career planning, employment and entrepreneurial skills, and inclusion campaigns.

The program will provide women with training, skills development, and the information they need for the future, enabling them to support their families, the economy, and their communities.

The Women’s Economic Recovery Challenge Grants aims to removing barriers and advancing gender equality at work. Originally authorised at $1 million, the budget was increased to $3.6 million following the high volume of applications received by the agency. Grants range from $25,000 to $250,000 and will cover travel, communication, project planning and administration expenses.
