British Columbia's PNP Continues to Thrill | Statistics @ A Glance

Regularly, the province of British Columbia, through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC-PNP) selects qualified candidates by issuing invitations. These candidates have applied in various categories of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), granting them the opportunity to reside and work permanently in the province. Those who secure a provincial nomination can obtain Permanent Residency (PR) through the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

From the beginning of 2024 until January 16th, 2024, British Columbia has issued at least 603 invitations through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program. These invitations encompass various categories, such as technology occupations, skilled workers, international graduates, childcare providers, construction professionals, healthcare practitioners, and veterinary care specialists. The minimum scores required for eligibility in these categories varied, spanning from 60 to 120 points.

On January 16, through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), the province released the latest draw statistics, outlining the minimum scores required for various categories.
 
The key takeaways are:
  • The Childcare stream under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories (including the Express Entry British Columbia option), a minimum score of 60 points was set, resulting in 53 invitations.

  • The Construction stream required a minimum score of 75 and saw 20 invitations being issued.

  • In the Healthcare stream, the minimum score was 60, and 29 invitations were issued.

  • The Tech stream had a notably higher minimum score of 103, resulting in 91 invitations.

  • In the Veterinary Care stream, the minimum score was 60, and the number of invitations was less than 5.

Looking back at the January 10 draw, several categories were included. Under the General stream for Skilled Workers, a minimum score of 120 points was required, leading to 110 invitations. The Skilled Worker - EEBC option, International Graduate, and International Graduate – EEBC option categories all shared a minimum score of 120 points, with respective invitation numbers of 110, 120, and 113. The Entry Level and Semi-Skilled category had a minimum score of 100, resulting in an impressive 113 invitations.

In the Childcare stream on the same date, under the Skilled Worker and International Graduate categories (including the Express Entry British Columbia option), a minimum score of 60 points led to 113 invitations. The Construction stream required a minimum score of 75, resulting in 74 invitations, while the Healthcare stream required a minimum score of 60, with 75 invitations issued. The Veterinary Care stream, with a minimum score of 60, saw fewer than 5 invitations issued.

Additionally, On January 16, through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP), the province conducted a draw specifically for the Entrepreneur Immigration stream, revealing the minimum scores and the corresponding number of invitations in different categories. In the Regional Pilot stream, a substantial minimum score of 135 was set, resulting in fewer than 5 invitations. Simultaneously, in the Base category, the minimum score was 116, also leading to fewer than 5 invitations.
