Last week, British Columbia and Manitoba have issued invitations to candidates under their respective Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs). Over 400 individuals have been invited from streams tailored for skilled workers and those in high-demand occupations who are seeking to establish themselves in these provinces.

The invitations were issued to candidates from streams aimed at prioritizing in-demand workers and graduates from international institutions within each province. Continue reading for more details.

Here is a summary of the provincial immigration results from last week

British Columbia | via British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP)

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) recently issued 88 invitations for permanent residence (PR) through its Skilled Worker, International Graduate stream. This stream is designed for international graduates who have completed their education at a university or college within the province within the last three years and have received a valid job offer from a B.C. employer.

Candidates who received invitations possessed professional experience in high-demand occupations targeted by the province. These included:

  • Childcare professionals, requiring a minimum score of 90 for invitation.
  • Construction professionals, necessitating a minimum score of 95.
  • Healthcare professionals, with a minimum score requirement of 95.
  • Tech professionals, needing a minimum score of 116.
  • Veterinary care professionals, requiring a minimum score of 80.

The inclusion of the EEBC option denotes an enhanced provincial nomination stream. Enhanced streams are synchronized with the Express Entry selection system, enabling individuals within the Express Entry pool to be invited to apply for PR in a province through these channels.

Manitoba | via Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

The province, through its  Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) recently issued over 350 invitations to eligible candidates.

Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba, Occupation-specific selection stream, which is part of the Manitoba Work Experience pathway, the MPNP issued 276 invitations to individuals employed in high-demand occupations within the province. Specifically, these individuals were engaged in occupations classified under the following National Occupation Classifications (NOC):

  • 33102—Nurse aides, orderlies, and patient service associates,
  • 60020—Retail and wholesale trade managers, and
  • Group 731—Workers in general construction trades.

Additionally, the MPNP issued invitations to 87 candidates through the Skilled Worker Overseas stream. These individuals were required to have a minimum score of 691 and had to indicate that they were invited by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

Out of the total 363 invitations issued through these programs, 81 were offered to candidates who also declared a valid Express Entry profile, indicating that both streams are enhanced pathways aligned with the Express Entry system.
