Regularly, the province of British Columbia, through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC-PNP) selects qualified candidates by issuing invitations. These candidates have applied in various categories of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), granting them the opportunity to reside and work permanently. Those who secure the provincial nomination can then obtain Permanent Residency (PR) through the Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The province of British Columbia offers elevated quality of life and enhanced prospects for career advancement. Annually, British Columbia invites up to 1,350 skilled workers through its nominee programs, under the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC-PNP).

Skilled worker category: reserved for foreign workers securing a valid job offer from an eligible employer in a skilled position, accompanied by the required minimum work experience,
Healthcare professional category: requires candidates to possess an eligible job offer and several years of work experience in the health sector, enabling them to apply for Canadian Permanent Residence (PR) visa on the basis of their experience in professions such as medical nurses, physicians or doctors, or other related medical professions.
International postgraduate, BC degree category: geared towards foreign individuals who have completed a master's or doctorate degree from a recognized educational institution in British Columbia.
International graduate, Canadian degree category: designed for international students who have graduated from a legitimate Canadian educational institution within the last two years.
Entry-level and semi-skilled worker category: intended for immigrants interested in applying for specific entry-level or semi-skilled positions in industries like tourism/hospitality, food processing, and long-haul trucking.

An overview of the latest BC-PNP draw

Here is a summary of the most recent BC-PNP draw that was held on 28 November 2023, outlining the number of candidates invited (in total and in each stream) as well as the minimum or cut-off score for individual stream.

In the general category, which includes technology occupations, a total of 80 invitations were issued across various streams with minimum scores as follows:

Skilled Worker - Minimum Score of 114

International Graduate-Minimum Score of 116

International Graduate EEBC option- Minimum Score of 116

Entry Level and Semi-Skilled- Minimum Score of 94

In the Skilled Worker and International Graduate category, which also includes the Express Entry BC (EEBC) option, a total of 60 invitations were issued. Among these, 49 invitations were specifically allocated for individuals in the Childcare sector, focusing on Early Childhood Educators and Assistants (NOC 42202). Additionally, 27 invitations were extended to candidates in the Construction field, while 29 invitations were allocated for those in the Healthcare sector.
