Canada Family Class Sponsorship Requirements

Family Class category is the Canadian immigration stream that bridges Canadian citizens and permanent residents with their family members outside Canada. Through this program, a Canadian citizen or permanent resident may sponsor his or her spouse/common-law partner/conjugal partner, parent(s) and grandparent(s), as well as natural as well as adopted dependent child/children to come to Canada as permanent residents.

The Canadian family class sponsorship application is a double ended application, in the sense, both the sponsored person as well as the sponsor need to take part separately in the sponsorship process by meeting all applicable sponsorship criteria.
