On February 22, Ontario held its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw inviting 773 Express Entry applicants to apply for a provincial nomination. Candidates were invited through Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) ’s Human Capital Priorities Stream.
Invited candidates had to have an Express Entry profile with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score between 455 and 600. They should have work experience in the National Occupation Classification (NOC) codes listed below.
Those who have received an invitation now have 45 calendar days to apply for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). If invited candidates are nominated by the province, 600 points will be automatically added to the candidate’s Express Entry profile. This will help the candidate to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) from a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) specific Express Entry draw.
About Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream:
The Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream in Ontario is a subcategory of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).
It allows foreign workers with the necessary skilled work experience, language abilities, and education to apply to permanently reside and work in Ontario.
To be nominated by the Ontario government for permanent residence, an applicant must have a valid profile in Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC’s) Express Entry system and receive a Notification of Interest from Ontario.
What is Express Entry?
Express Entry is an electronic selection system used by the Federal as well as Provincial governments of Canada [to select], as well as designated Canadian employers [to nominate] candidates for Canadian permanent residence under three of its popular economic [skilled] immigration programs:
Candidates eligible for any of the above programs are given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score in the Express Entry Pool. It is based on their Core/Human capital factors such as age, work experience, education, and language ability in English and/or French, etc. Based on scores, candidates are periodically invited (or nominated) for permanent residence.
