It is good news for Indian passengers traveling to Canada this month, Air Canada increases its Toronto-Delhi flight services from October 15. This follows the approval of Air Canada to operate three more weekly flights between Toronto and Delhi from October 15, 2021, till March 26, 2022, by the Canadian Transportation Agency.

Canada resumed its daily flights to India from September 26, 2021, after a four-month ban due to the Covid-19 pandemic which both countries were impacted with. The flights were resumed keeping in mind all the Covid norms and parameters which should be maintained in all flights moving from both countries for the safety of all passengers.

In addition to resuming Toronto-Delhi flights, Air Canada is also planning to resume flights between Montreal and Delhi, as well as Mumbai. Air Canada is currently operating on the Toronto-Delhi route which is scheduled to operate all 7 days of the week with a Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The schedule of Air Canada from October 15 is as mentioned below:

What do travellers need to keep in mind while travelling to Canada?

  • For travellers to be exempted from quarantine, they need to provide border officers negative Covid-19 test results and proof of vaccination. The travellers may need to plan a 14-day quarantine after landing. Passengers may also be selected at random to conduct a Covid-19 test upon arrival.
  • All travellers arriving in Canada will need to download ArriveCan mobile application to submit their personal and travel information. To learn more about the ArriveCan mobile application for Indians travelling to Canada, read our article on ArriveCan, here.
  • To be exempt from quarantine, travellers will need to show proof of vaccination with a Canada approved vaccine – Astra Zeneca [i.e., Covishield], Pfizer, Moderna or Janssen (Johnson and Johnson).
  • Those travellers who are not fully vaccinated will be allowed to travel to Canada only for essential reasons like family, work, school, compassionate reasons, or immigration.
  • Canadian citizens and permanent residents as well as their family members who are not yet fully vaccinated can enter Canada but will have to quarantine themselves at home.
  • Individuals under the age of 12 who are yet to receive vaccination will be allowed to enter Canada without observing quarantine, provided their parent or guardian is fully vaccinated and is accompanying them.
  • Individuals who are travelling for an essential reason without vaccination will be allowed to enter but will need to observe a 14-day quarantine upon arrival.
