Canada has Admitted 13,645 Immigrants

Canada continues to process immigration applications despite the pandemic granting new permanent residence invitations to qualified applicants. The flagship framework for handling economic class immigration applications in Canada is called Express Entry. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued more Express Entry invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence on a year-over-year basis.

Candidates eligible for any of the 3 federal skilled migration programs are given a CRS score in the Express Entry Pool. It is based on their Core/Human capital factors such as age, work experience, education, and language ability in English and/or French.

The highest-ranked candidates in the pool are then invited to apply for permanent residence through regular Express Entry draws. Candidates who receive express entry scores below CRS cut-offs can apply for provincial nomination programs, which is the best option to increase their scores. The highest-ranked candidates in the Express Entry pool are issued ITAs in regular invitation rounds.

Candidates who succeed in receiving the nomination from a province, accrues an additional 600 CRS points. This will effectively guarantee them an Invitation to Apply from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada., based on the current CRS draw trend. This applies to any successful candidate under any of the enhances nominations under various provinces’ Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).
