Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream

The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM) helps Canadian employers select foreign-trained employees with requisite skills and according to needs, and nominates them for Canadian Permanent Residence. The stream gives more importance to candidates who have family ties in Manitoba through two migration pathways.

  1. Manitoba Work Experience Pathway: This pathway helps candidates who are currently employed in Manitoba through the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) with a temporary work permit, or, as international graduates from any province. Candidates do not need to be working in an In-Demand Occupation(s) to qualify under this category.
  2. Employer Direct Recruitment Pathway: This pathway require candidates (foreign) to have a valid job offer from an approved Manitoba Employer.

Skilled Worker Overseas Stream

The Skilled Worker Overseas Stream (SWO) aims international skilled workers with skills and training in the province. The In-Demand Occupation stream provides two pathways to candidates – a dedicated Canadian Express Entry Pathway and a direct provincial pathway. Candidates having close family connections along with language proficiency, training and experience to find jobs quickly are given priority over other applicants.

  1. Manitoba Express Entry Pathway: International Candidates who have skills and experience in one of Manitoba’s In-Demand Occupations, along with close family connection(s) in the province are considered under this program. It also requires the candidates to meet the Express Entry eligibility criteria and, have an active Express Entry profile.
  2. Human Capital Pathway: This pathway helps candidates who can demonstrate potential to find employment in the province as soon as they arrive. It also requires the candidate to have skills, training and experience in one of the province’s In-Demand Occupations list.
