Ontario Immigration Employer Job Offer Category To Invite more immigrants as Manufacturing Labour Shortage increases

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program is on a path to incorporate 13 more manufacturing jobs to the occupations eligibility list under the popular Employer Job Offer Category.

The candidates for the new NOC (National Occupation Classification) codes will only be eligible if the job is outside the Greater Toronto Area.

A proposed regulation amendment issued on Wednesday, January 15, would see the new NOC codes applicable to all three Ontario Immigration Employer Job Offer streams: Foreign Worker, International Student and In-Demand Skills.

The proposal states: “The purpose of the proposed amendment is to respond to regional feedback so the OINP is more responsive to labour market needs in manufacturing sectors in communities outside the Greater Toronto Area that do not see significant levels of immigration.”

This is certainly a relief for many immigrants who are working in the manufacturing sector and are looking to settle in Ontario.
