Latest Express Entry Draw | Total 3,900 Invitations Issued

In the last Express Entry draw that took place on 30 October 2019, the CRS score of lowest ranked candidate invited was 475. A total of 3,900 invitations were issued on this 129th Express Entry draw.

Seasoned Canadian immigration lawyers opine that the hike in the Cut-off CRS score resulted partly because of the fact that the 128th Express Entry draw (the previous draw) was specific to the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC); not Federal Skilled Workers Class (FSWC). This has left a time window of 28 days from the previous Express Entry draw specific to FSWC (the 127th draw).

Whilst it is true that the total number of eligible candidates applying for immigration through the Federal Skilled Workers Class (FSWC) is increasing steadily, considering the government of Canada’s 2019-20 immigration intake target in line with the government’s multi-year immigration target, the total number of candidates invited has to reach 340,000 by the end of 2019. This analysis easily predicts that that the cut-off CRS score in the upcoming Express Entry draws specific to Federal Skilled Workers Class (FSWC) should reduce drastically in the upcoming draws.

This means that if you are a skilled professional looking to immigrate to Canada, time is of the essence for you. A minimum pass score of 67 points is required out of the total score of 100 points in the Federal 6 Selection Factors to qualify for Express Entry aligned programs. These include the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), the Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

Below are the draw statistics of the 129th Express Entry draw:

Number of Invitations issued: 3,900

Date and time of the drawOctober 30, 2019 at 12:50:09 (UTC)

CRS score of the lowest ranked candidate: 475

Tie-break rule used in this draw: August 29, 2019 at 03:50:24 (UTC)

This means that all Express Entry profiles that were active in the pool with a minimum CRS score equal to or greater than 475, and which entered the pool at (or before) the lock-score (tie-break) timestamp were considered while the Federal Government of Canada issued Invitation to Apply (ITAs) this time.

Express Entry is a selection system, through which the Federal government of Canada (IRCC) selects candidates for economic immigration to Canada through three programs – Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC), Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC) and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) – as well as a portion of Provincial Nominations (enhanced nominations).
