RBC Royal Bank Recognized | For Outstanding Assisting to New Immigrants

Each year, the Government of Canada, in collaboration with ‘Hire Immigrants Ottawa’, recognizes local businesses’ (small, medium, and big) participation in helping new immigrants improve their integration into the Canadian labour force.

The RBC Royal Bank was recognized for introducing ‘Arrive’, a free and easy-to-use platform, dedicated to helping newcomers thrive in Canada. The main features of ‘Arrive’ being:

  • It is completely free od cost
  • It provides access to resources focused on getting hired in the right field of work, in a faster way (TRIEC Learning)
  • It is highly user-friendly; not only for the young but for senior newcomers also
  • It connects newcomers with a dynamic network if like-minded peers for support and guidance
  • It helps users make meaningful connections
  • It provides access to expert knowledge in different domains

In this regard, the Government of Canada is recognizing RBC Royal Bank for its support to new immigrants, including hiring new immigrants, providing them with valuable information regarding the labour market. RBC Royal Bank was also recognized for assisting new immigrants to make considerable advancements in their career and achieve their full potential.

“I am impressed by the initiative that RBC Royal Bank has taken in ensuring that its newcomer employees feel welcome and have the supports they need to integrate into their life in Canada.” said Canada’s minister of immigration Ahmed Hussen in the Champions Summit, “Through a partnership with TRIEC Learning, an online knowledge hub of tools and resources that help employers hire and retain immigrant talent, more than 3,200 RBC employees have completed e-learning modules to develop skills like cross-cultural communication. Having the support and understanding of their coworkers is so critical to a newcomer’s integration journey”.

Winners were announced at the 2019 Employer Council of Champions Summit and Awards. The summit organized by Hire Immigrants Ottawa. The summit brings together businesses, government and civic leaders to engage in a dialogue about the effective integration of refugees and immigrants into the labour force, and to celebrate employer excellence.
