In the last Express Entry draw that took place on January 30, 2019, the lowest CRS score of invited candidates has come down to 438. But the catch here is that the score hit 438 when a total of 3,350 invitations were issued.
A total of 3,350 invitations were issued on the 110th Express Entry draw that took place on January 30, 2019. Though it is quite unusual nowadays (taking into consideration the recent CRS draw trend) for the CRS score to drop below the 440-ish draw range, it is what that happened on this draw. One other peculiarity of this draw is that the total number of invitations (ITAs) issued has reduced from the usual 3,900 to 3,350. That is, 550 lesser invitations were issued this time.
So, is it good that lesser invitations were issued this time? The answer is Yes. To understand this, we have to compare the number of invitations issued with cut-off CRS score. So, based on the below draw statistics, we can see that though the number of invitations issued has reduced to 3,350 from 3,900, IRCC had to come down to a CRS score as low as 438 so that they could finish issuing 3,350 invitations. Or in other words, had the government decided to issue 3,900 invitations – which is the usual intake volume – they would have required to come even below 438!
