Jobs In Canada

Statistics show that in the current quarter of 2019, job vacancies throughout territorial (all provinces and territories) Canada crosses record high. With over 592,000 new job vacancies throughout the country (see quarter-wise chart below), the steep increase in available jobs is attracting huge volumes of work permit seekers, permanent residence aspirants and working holiday seekers to Canada.

Compared to last year, there is an increase of 6.2 percent in the second quarter (Q2) of 2019, and 14.5 in the third quarter (Q3). The data also shows that nearly 70% of the newly available jobs are centered in the provinces of Quebec, British Columbia and Ontario. Though there are size-able proportions in the mining and petrochemical sector as well (in the province of Alberta), most of the newly available jobs are in the Information Technology (IT), Automobile, Pharmaceutical, Accommodation and Food (consumables) services, healthcare and social assistance sectors.

In Canada, whilst certain jobs are seasonal in nature, the increase in the total available jobs in the country is viewed as the enhanced collaborative efficiency of Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). This however also adds pressure to Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) as the country’s ever-growing need for skilled workers and professionals increases steadily.
