The Government of Nova Scotia is Recruiting Doctors

The new Physician immigration stream was launched in February 2018. It makes immigration to the province of Nova Scotia easier and faster for physicians who have already received a job offer from the Nova Scotia Health Authority, OR, the IWK Health Centre. The program is targeting an increase in immigration of family doctors and specialists. Also, this stream is exempt from the usual LMIA requirement, which makes this a unique opportunity for doctors and medical specialists all around the world.

As a part of promoting the program, the representatives of the province are visiting Dublin (Ireland) and London (United Kingdom), to conduct one-on-one sessions with interested doctors and medical specialists. The team consists of members from Nova Scotia’s office of immigration, the Nova Scotia Health Authority, and the Nova Scotia College of Physicians and Surgeons.

As of now, a total of 14 doctors (12 family doctors and 2 specialists) are on their path to Permanent Residence through the new Physician immigration stream. These doctors are currently working in Sydney, Halifax (capital of Nova Scotia), Baddeck, Truro, New Glasgow and Antigonish.
