Persons looking to apply for a Canadian Work PermitVisitor Visa (TRV), or Permanent Residence (PR) are now required submit their biometrics (fingerprints and photo). The introduction of Biometrics into the Canadian information security systems is expected to increase the safety of Canadian citizens and Permanent Residents.

Biometrics makes infiltration difficult. Canada is intending to increase the level of safety it provides to its communities by the introduction of advanced identification techniques like fingerprints scan and related technology. 8 major Canadian airports are now equipped with a Primary Kiosk, where you need to first scan your fingerprints. This is a much more easy and scientific way of proving if the person is really whom the person claims she or he is, compared to traditional methods like documents verification. Also, Biometrics eliminates the risks of forging.

This new introduction will initially be applicable for applications that fall under the aforementioned categories from the countries of Middle East, Europe and Africa. To see if you need to obtain Biometrics to enter Canada, click here.
